Chimera’s history is a long one. The guild was created in Burning Crusade by the merge of the two top guilds on the server at the time, Leviathan and Kindred. The idea was to take what they both knew they could not be separately and accomplish it together. This would workout fantastic as they would found out. Chimera was the top raiding guild on the Durotan[US] server for a long time. Taking most of the realm first achievements, and climbing to heights nobody thought was possible.
In cataclysm, the guild lost its way. This was primarily due to a poor choice in the guilds succession of leadership at the time and the drop in population during that expansion.
Around the end of the first raid cycle in MoP, Frozenwing, at that time an ex hardcore raider with the guild during Wrath of the Lich King, returned to the game to see the state of the guild. It was at this time he decided he would help rebuild it. Together with the help or a few friends along the way, he would rebuild the guild to its former glory. Once again taking the top spot on the server and holding it well through the end of legion clearing all mythic content through the end of that expansion with the exception of Argus.
Battle for Azeroth, aside from it’s obvious issues ,brought more decline in population, making it increasingly difficult to hold a roster. It was at this time that we chose to leave our home and move the guild to Stormrage[US] to be among a much more populated crowd. We have been here ever since.
Shadowlands brought another minor rebuild to the guild. This time in the form of a change of direction. With most of us having wives, children, careers etc keeping our time occupied, we decided that a Heroic / AOTC approach would best fit our timetable and allowed us to continue to enjoy each others company as we found that was the main reason any of us were here. The family we built was still running strong.
Dragonflight continued that energy, we completed every tier AOTC rather easily and enjoyed some M+ content as well. Pushing each other to raise that score so to speak.
Now in The War Within, our focus is now AOTC+. This means we will continue to clear AOTC as the primary focus, however should we have the roster to accomplish any mythic kills, we will do that in a much more relaxed and laid back way.
As GM I Frozenwing have kept this family together the best I could. Creating new memories and friendships among the new members and the old. (A lot of these transcending the game into the real world) However, without every single member of this guild, that would not have been possible. I thank each and every one of you I’ve come in contact with along the way and I will continue to drive forward as long as you’ll have me.
